Buenos Aires, March 14 (NA) – River will host Sarmiento de Junín this Sunday for the eleventh matchday of Zone B of the Apertura Tournament, in search of a new victory that will allow them to further solidify their position in the playoff spots.
The match, scheduled for 19:45, will take place at the Monumental Stadium. It will be covered live by the Noticias Argentina Agency and broadcast by ESPN Premium. The designated referee is Darío Herrera, while Adrián Franklin will be in charge of VAR.
River comes from a 2-1 victory over Huracán as visitors, a match marked by the debut of Eduardo Coudet as the club's coach after Marcelo Gallardo's resignation. This victory allowed them to settle into fifth place in Zone B of the Apertura Tournament with 14 points, so a new victory could put them right in the fight for the top spot.
Sarmiento, for its part, drew 0-0 at home against Racing. Although they are twelfth with only 10 points, the Junín team could join the discussion for playoff spots if they achieve a victory at the Monumental.
The last time River and Sarmiento faced each other was in the 2025 Clausura Tournament, and the Junín team caused a huge surprise by winning 1-0 as visitors.
